Jixxa README.TXT
----------------
Hello and welcome to the Jixxa - The Premier Edition CD-ROM from Ocean
State Publishing Corp.! Jixxa is brought to you under license from
Rhode Island Soft Systems, Inc.
This package contains Jixxa, the premier Jigsaw Puzzle game for Windows
3.1, plus 12 fun jigsaw puzzles. This package contains an automated
installation utility, and interactive on-line help.
The Jixxa puzzles in this package are intended for 256 color displays, so
if you only have a 16 color display, you will not see the full beauty of
the images. Of course, the game will still work, but not in the intended
manner. You can verify your color setting in the "Help... About..." box.
The puzzles in this package come in 4 different sized pieces, for maximum
variety. For all 12 puzzle images, that means you have 48 puzzle files!
The following information will guide you through installing the Jixxa
files. Once installed, the SETUP program will create a program group and
install icons for the documentation files, which you can read by clicking
on the document's icon. One Puzzle file is initially installed for you.
The rest remain on the CD-ROM. You can load additional puzzles directly
from the CD-ROM, or copy the puzzle files to your hard drive to play them
without needing the CD-ROM. We leave most of them on the CD-ROM
initially to save space on your hard drive. Each puzzle file is just under
one megabyte (1MB) in size, so having even just a few puzzles on your hard
drive will start to add up quickly!
INSTALLING JIXXA
----------------
From Program Manager's main window, select "File". This will cause a menu
to drop down. Next, select "Run...". A dialog box will pop up requesting
a "Command Line".
If the Jixxa files are on a floppy disk, insert the diskette into the A:
or B: drive, as appropriate and type either "A:\SETUP" or "B:\SETUP",
respectively. We must execute the "SETUP" program located on the disk.
If the Jixxa files are in a directory on a hard drive, enter the full
drive and directory path to where the Jixxa files are located, such as:
"C:\DOWNLOAD\TEMP\SETUP". Please note that these are just samples --
subsititue the proper drive and directory, as appropriate.
After entering the command to execute SETUP, press the ENTER key or click
on the "OK" button. At this point SETUP will handle the entire process of
installing the Jixxa files.
